Images of Excellence
The Images of ExcellenceTM mural is a celebration of excellence at Lake Forest High School. While its focus is athletics, the mural is not intended to celebrate athletic achievement alone. The vision for the mural is to use athletics as a backdrop to highlight the virtues, values and internal qualities we seek to instill and develop in our youth generally, and to honor select senior students who have consistently displayed these attributes during their careers at Lake Forest High School, both on and off the field of play. The Images of Excellence mural also is intended to feature academics and performing arts in a complementary way.
To reinforce this vision, the following words appear on the Images of Excellence mural, alongside photographic images of LFHS student-athletes in action: Empathy, Integrity, Courage, Respect. Resilience, Leadership, Character, Humility, Equity, Unity, Inclusion and Commitment.
Boosters updates the Images of Excellence each fall. We are grateful to our generous Corporate Partner, NorthShore, whose funding offsets the costs associated with the mural, and to Brian Vandenberg, for his vision and continued support of this celebrated tradition.
